As many organizations are delivering programs and projects to achieve their corporate strategy, experienced professional project managers become key resources for the company success. This practical project management workshop provides the tool and techniques, real life examples, and best practices for project managers or project leaders to improve managing and delivering projects in their organization effectively.
 
 
Course Audience:
 
Senior Technical Professionals (System Engineer, Technical Lead, Supervisor, IT Architect, Senior Programmer), Project Leads, Business Analysts, Project Control Officers, Junior Project Managers, and Functional Managers who want to gain hands-on project management experiences.
 
 
Course Benefits:
 
Participants will gain hands-on skill and will be able to analysis the project requirement; create project charter, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), project schedule using Microsoft Project, and cost baseline; and apply project change control. Participants, who complete the course, will earn 20 PDUs and receive a certificate.
 
 
Course Structure:
 
The workshop will guide students through the real project cases to practically learn project management skills. Instructor will introduce the course assignment during the workshop. Students will be divided into different groups, work on the course assignment as a project team, and complete the project management assignments together. Instructor will review the assignments and provide the constructive feedback.

Instructor Profile:
 
Mr. Tam has 14+ years experience in project management devoted in managing consulting, integration, and application development projects in Financial Institutions, Ontario Government, Telecommunication, Information Technology consulting, and Insurance. He is a certified Professional Project Manager (PMP) by Project Management Institute (PMI) and has a B.Sc. degree in Computer Science from York University.
 
As a project management award winner, Mr. Tam specializes in managing large and complex projects and rescuing troubled IT projects. He has provided coaching, mentoring, and training to junior project managers for many years. He has passion for teaching his students to delivery their projects successfully and to exceed their client expectation.
